EarthShips, EarthShip Fleurieu and The Plentiful Barn

– Rose and Allan Fox

[This Vision & Mission is for our Total Project at Tonto Road Normanville]

***********************************************

We are entering something far bigger than Rose & I, you and your family and friends. Something that was started back in time by people of great vision for a way of living in which all humanity can prosper under sustainable productionof nutritious food, ample potable water supply, sustainable housing, peace and basic human comforts. A way of life that also sustains the planet.

These people were the ‘Greats’ of the past who dared to propose permaculture, sustainable design, biotecture, biodynamics, zero waste and more. And who proposed to use technology for the benefits of humanity, not solely shareholder profits.

We are piggy-backing on their invaluable work. We are a small part of it, hoping that our efforts can add to and help expand it. If we can but change the thinking, thus the living patterns of our family, friends and a sample of the greater community, we will be successful.

We will go down in history as people who loved people.

OUR VISION

  • To live in a new paradigm of abundance, re-inventing the ‘necessities’ of a modern lifestyle by developing a prototype and being a living example of bountifully, sustainable, economic living in a modern society.
  • To minimize our ecological and environmental ‘footprint’ and living in synergy with nature’s continuous cycles. To balance our Green House gas emissions and have a Zero Carbon footprint.
  • We see biotecture and the EarthShip design will be the a cornerstone for our development
  • To create an amazing, eco-friendly, off the grid, self-sustaining farm and lifestyle asset – to see us through to departure. We call this The Plentiful Barn
  • Have this complex be a Training / Educational Centre as a vehicle to pass the baton of success to the greater community
  • To create a safe haven for support of family and friends in the event of a severe Global Financial Crisis.
  • To produce an income, in cash, to ensure we are self-sufficient in every way – free of any State or Plutocracy Support.
  • To create a perpetual country (R&R) Rest & Recreational residence for our greater family’s future welfare.

OUR MISSION

A. To live in a new paradigm of abundance, re-inventing the ‘necessities’ of a modern lifestyle by developing a prototype and a living example of bountifully economic living in a modern society.

  • Challenge every item of consumption we engage in – accepting only those mandatory for our health and wellness, wealth and an exceptionally, pleasant lifestyle.
  • Redefine “abundance” to include minimum “consumption”.
  • Work actively on our mindsets to ‘undo’ the mindsets about success that have been imparted to us by false education and the Corporatocracy’s media propaganda.
  • Share our finding and progress with the greater community and society in general. This will include all detail in Item B to G below.

B. To minimize our ecological and environmental ‘footprint’ and live in synergy with nature’s continuous cycles. To balance our Green House gas emissions and have Zero Carbon footprint.

  • To maximize our use of recycled materials for construction and production.Needs
  • Develop a ‘Zero Waste policy’ and overtime progress to the reality of Zero Waste. Items to be addressed include:
    • Live Simply – use what we have or produce
    • Composting
    • Buy Second-hand
    • Reusable Items
    • Buy from Bulk Bins

C. Biotecture and the EarthShip design will be the cornerstone of our development

  • The principle of energy efficiency, off grid, solar & wind generated power, recycling water up to four times and more will be used in the EarthShip, The aquariums (to keep the Barramundi warm in winter, and trout cool in summer), in the vegetable growing systems, in the animal shelters and in all onsite facilities

D. To create an ‘amazing’, eco-friendly, off the grid, self-sustaining farm and lifestyle asset – to see us through to departure.

This will include:

  • A comfortable, energy efficient, light and accommodating, modern living area based on EarthShip biotecture principles.
  • Off Grid:
    • Solar/wind power generation.
    • Fully containedonsite water or sewerage systems.
  • Maximum recycling of all materials and commodities.
    • All non-consumed vegetation to be composted or recycled into animal food** for chooks and fish.
      • i.e. Soldier fly larvae, chrysalis generator
    • All non-consumed animal produce to be recycled into animal food** for chooks and fish
      • Blue bottle maggot generator
      • Carcass remains ground and pelletized.
    • All paper to be composted, or used for fire lighting.
    • All grey water to be recycled – for use in toilets and/or crop irrigation.
    • Maximum recycling of black water – irrigation of trees and wood lot
  • Synergistic groupings of plants to maximize yield while remaining organic.
  • Various fruit trees that have early, mid and late fruit maturation.
  • A variety of trees that fruit all year round.
  • A variety of nuts and berries that mature at different times during the year.
  • Astute plantings:
    • Off seasonal planting to minimize irrigation water consumption
    • To have continuous vegetables throughout the year.
  • Copious planting of vegetables that have a long shelf life – Onions, pumpkins, potatoes, garlic, carrots, cabbage and more.
  • Livestock– Meat, eggs and other produce available all year round:
    • Chooks – Free range eggs production all year round
    • Pigeons – Rapid reproduction, and ‘free range’ feeders.
    •  Goats – meat and weed control
    • Sheep / cattle – meat (and wool) production.
  • Onsite bee hives to ensure crops are fertilized and for honey production, of course.
  • Harvest vermin and ‘ferals’ for use as animal food. ** see Item D part c above.
  • An Aquaponicssystem for synergistic fish [Barramundi, Murray Cod or Yabbies/Marron] and Vegetable Farming.
  • Sub surface glass house for growing off season vegetables in winter – incorporated in EARTHSHIP biotecture DESIGN
  • Wood lot to replace all wood used for cooking and comfort heating,

E. Have this complex be a Training / Educational Centre as a vehicle to pass the baton of success to the Greater Community.

  • Incorporate a theater in the EarthShip design.
  • Invite the best local (and others) organics, sustainable, solar/wind generator and Aquaponics teachers to participate.
  • Set up project for a graduate to complete a Master’s Degree in sustainable designs.

F. To create a safe haven for support of family and friends in the event of a severe financial crisis.

  • Produce far in excess of our personal needs so that in tight times we can support family and friends, and help the greater community.
  • Provide enoughaccommodation (permanent and temporary)and infrastructure for at least 10 extra people in crisis times.

G. To produce an income, in cash, to ensure we are self-sufficient in every way – free of any State or Plutocracy Support.

  • From the ‘excess’ production – stated in ‘D’ above:
    •  Sale of livestock, livestock products and eggs.
    • Honey sales
    • Sale of fish.
    • Sale of vegetable and other produce – market stall?
  • EarthShipbuild training fees.
  • Other ideas to be developed:
    • ‘Farm stay’ accommodation.
    • B&B accommodation.
    • Horse agistment.
  • Barter system to minimize amount of cash we need.
  • Use “Ripe near Me” as an exchange medium to share our abundance and barter for products we would normally need cash to purchase.
  • Participate in the “Eat Local” initiatives on the Fleurieu.

H. To create a perpetual country residence for our ‘greater’ family’s future welfare

  • Set up correct structure (possible ‘blood line’ trust) to protect ongoing ownership now and after our departure….. Trustee outside the family.
  • Make the property ‘family friendly’ so our family will come and enjoy it from day one.
    • Set up comfy accommodation, a picnic/play area with fire ring etc
    • Foster ‘involvement’ with the project to have the greater family members claim ‘ownership’ in the outcome.
